It’s been ages since I read a decent crime series. I can’t actually remember the last time I lost myself in one actually. And now I have two very good series of books on the go. I’m currently reading David Young’s Karin Müller series – a police procedural set in 1970s East Germany – and Mick Herron’s Slough House books – reject MI5 agents save the day.

Both are nice, long series (8 books or so) but the books aren’t long. I’ve been polishing off one a week for a while now. I can’t recommend them enough. They aren’t groundbreaking literature but they are great reads and I’m thoroughly enjoying working my way through them.
